Some chance meetings are just meant to be. A few weeks back, I rubbed shoulders with the gorgeous South African actress Zetske van Pletzen, best known as 'Marcel' in the series 7de Laan, but whose flawless features now grace our telly screens in her role as 'Julia' on Getroud Met Rugby, and discovered that when she's not on set in front of a camera she's using her innate creative flair beyond drama to design and manufacture dream dresses under her clothing label 'Halo by Zetske'.
Her journey into the fashion industry began several years ago when the talented star took a sabbatical from the acting scene to embrace motherhood, but with her celebrity status in good stead, she has managed to do both simultaneously; pursue her acting career and build a successful fashion brand.
Our opportune encounter proved more fruitful than expected. Zetske has added the last of her best-seller garments from her previous collections to our online shop, so rather than allowing these beauties to be forgotten and collect dust in her studio, you can now buy them here at awesome discounted prices. They are still brand new and in an excellent condition, and well, since we're in the middle of prom term and wedding season is just a few short months away, you can swoop 'em up while stocks last and save $$$.
Here are a few must-haves from 'Halo by Zetske':
Red one-shoulder evening dress with lace detail
Transport your mind to that unforgettable scene in the movie Pretty Woman when Richard Gere surprises Julia Roberts with a trip to an opera performance. She takes his breath away (and ours) in a ravishing red gown, and this particular 'Halo' dress promises to do just that! The off-the-shoulder design features delicate lace that extends from sleeve to floor while the stretchy bonbon fabric contours around your curves. If bright red is a little too attention-grabbing for you, check out the grey version instead.
Pink sequin cocktail dress
Two of my most favourite girlish traits in one sweet dress; candy pink and lotsa bling! This dress is simple in form but striking in make-up, and offers loads of versatility. Dress it down on a warm spring day or dress it up with stockings, boots and a cropped jacket for a chilly evening out on the town. If you plan on letting your hair down, the open back is a blessing because there are no sequins in the area to catch and pull your precious strands.
Gold sequin and burgundy tulle evening dress
Sequins!!! Again, I just adore anything with these little light reflectors, and this evening dress is no exception. Also, I love the contrast of the colour combination; dull gold which meets a rich burgundy hue skirt - an on-trend winter shade year after year. A real perk is the built-in bust support which means you can lose the bra and have peace of mind while you get your groove on at a wedding party or matric dance.
Love what you've seen? Check out the rest of the nearly-new 'Halo' garments by Zetske van Pletzen.
